The Micro Light Performance Trail looks different for a reason. The high cuff is a built-in scree-guard that helps keep out the trail while you're trail running. Below the cuff is a vented lower that increases breathability during highly aerobic activities.
All our socks are made with 18.5m superfine knit, suit-grade performance Merino wool.
Our custom blend of man-made fibers selected for the best breathability and fit.
Love these for running!
Socks too tight around f calf--otherwise a five
I had an issue with a pair of FITS that I had purchased. I sent a return and received a new pair of socks very, very quickly. Could not be happier with the customer service I received. I look forward to purchasing more FITS socks in the future!
This is my first FITS product, and I love the cushioning, wicking, and height. The longest I have gone in this sock is 15 sweaty miles, and the I found it to an excellent sock.
I purchased this primarily as a running sock. I am a prodigious sweater, And I like wool socks in summer heat. This model is secure, and doesn’t slip or pull down. For light hiking it is also superb. And it doesn’t get the funky smell that synthetics get.
I purchased these socks as a replacement for some old worn out socks I had. So far I’m very pleased with them. I especially like the fact they stay up on my ankle and prevent rubbing on my hiking boots. They give good support and especially like the wicking of them when hiking in summer.

For my purposes, I'm comparing to Carhartt Force performance. Same height, about a half inch above the top of my boot which is what I wanted. The top of the FITS is a thicker cuff right where you tie the top to laces. (I wear Kenetrek desert guide boots, also designed for hot weather), love this cuff design and functionally, it works. The fabric feels tougher as you'd expect with merino wool. The top that is supposed to be thinner in order to keep cooler is thinner but not so thin that you rub a blister. The thick parts where you need them in high rub areas work well. Only comment is I did get hot spots on my big toes, both feet, but that happens to me with all socks. What I'm seeking is ability to wear just one sock and not have to have a liner which will allow it to not be so hot. Works pretty good. Twice the cost of the Carhartt Force but definitely a cut above in performance top to bottom. The Carhartt sock is great for everyday but if you actually get out and pound the rocks and trails, the FITS are the way to go.
Your sock size shouldn’t be a guessing game. Our socks range from small to double XL, but the best way to know the perfect fit for you is to match your shoe size to the chart on the left. That way, you’ll know the size you select will give you the fit and feel you expect.
Between sizes? Go with your gut, but rest assured that your socks will still fit great. If you receive your order and find yourself wishing you’d gone up or down a size, just let us know. We’ll happily send you replacements for your preferred size.
Concerned about laundry mix-ups? All FITS® socks are coordinated by color and size, based on the colors you see on the size chart. So, you won’t have to worry about mixing up your sizes with the other FITS® wearers in your home. (But stray socks mysteriously going missing in the dryer? Unfortunately, we can’t help with that.)
